It's big, ostentatious, and the gardens really do look like they extend to infinity. One must really love themselves to be king.

The city of Versailles was like a quieter, smaller version of Paris. We met up with one of my coworkers who lives in Versailles for some cake and tea before heading home.
Looks like it was a nice day there, though - if you look at my pictures, there are a few of everyone waiting in line with raincoats and umbrellas. We skipped the gardens because of that. I liked Versailles but thought Napoleon's apts. in the Louvre were just as good. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the city was very nice, we had one of our best meals there - 2 crepes for 10 euro total, and 5 euro for a 50ml carafe of wine (like 4 glasses) which was pretty cheap.
